Elevation gain: approx 437 m
Route: Take a left from the Europastraße into the Lavardiweg and follow trail no. 10. Follow the sign to the 'Bärentalweg' (no. 13) at the crossroads, towards Altenburg. At the 'Rastenbachklamm' sign (no. 1) take a left, cross the wild and romantic gorge via numerous steps and bridges to the top (for lovers of heights) and at the next crossroads follow the sign for 'St. Peter Ruine' (paths no. 2b and 2).
Suggestion: excursionists who don’t want to use the steps and cross the Rastenbach ravine as they suffer from heights, can simply follow into the Bärentalweg (sign no. 13), cross the road at the Müllereck car park, follow path no. 1A and then head to Altenburg on trail no. 11.
