The sport of wind surfing and the success of Kaltern's Surfing Club really took off in the mid 70s when Kaltern's own Klaus Maran won 3 World Championship titles.

And today?

The success continues with twenty-year-old Fabian Heidegger, who won Italian, European and World Championship titles ..... and he began surfing right here at Lake Kalterer See.
