Perhaps now the only thing you were left wondering is what in the world is
"Törggelen"?
Törggelen- got its name from traditional harvest wine tasting around the
"Torggl" (wine press). Where everyone comes together to taste the newly pressed wine - and celebrate! Traditionally, simple foods are served at
Törggelen: home cured
Speck and
Kaminwurzen sausages along with simple home-cooked, traditional specialities and for dessert, roasted chestnuts and sweet fritters.
When you go
Törggelen in the autumn, you will typically enjoy the new wine (called Suser, because it's sweet) accompanied by some traditional foods such as dumplings and smoked meat. |
