Kaltern town consits of a forest area of 2500 square meters. Many trees such as Conifer, broadleaf tree, even a few very distincitve antique redwood are to be found in Kaltern’s forests. Thanks to the humidity in this forest area the growth of numerous mushrooms is facilitated. To go on a mushroom foray is not allowed for everyone and at any time because it is strictly regulated by law.

Conditions to go on a mushroom foray:
a) Outside the community of residence:
In case you want to go for a mushroom foray in any community of your interest there is a fee of 8 € which has to be paid to this community. ID Card required.

b) Within the community of residence:
ID Card required only!

 

Where to go for a mushroom foray:
It is allowed in all communities wherethe fee of 8 € was paid and in the community of residence. Please do pay attention at areas where the mushroom picking is prohibited by signs.

 

When to go for a mushroom foray:
Only on even days from 7 am to 7 pm.

 

How many mushrooms may be picked?
a) Outside the community of residence: not more than 1 kg per day and per person
(minimum age 14)
b) Within the community of residence: not more than 2 kg per day and per person

 

How are mushrooms to be handled?
 The mushrooms have got to be
a) transported in a firm and open container and
b) not be destroyed at their growth place

 

Penalties:
· If the full amount of 8 € is not paid to the community of reference, there will be another 20 € to be paid.
· If the ID Card should not be valid or not presented at all, there will be another 20 € to be paid.
· In case the delivery of the mushrooms is refused the amount of the penalty fee will be doubled.
· In case of control refusal, a fee of 161 €  has to be paid.
